EC wants EU to strengthen control over dual-use goods exports

BRUSSELS, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- The European Commission has suggested strengthening control over E.U. exports of dual-use goods and key technologies under its economic security strategy, Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis said on Tuesday.

The official said that while the European Commission embraces the fact that export controls are at the discretion of the national authorities, the E.U. must create new instruments at the union level.

The European Commission presented a strategy of economic security, under which the member-states are to boost counteraction to the economic security risks amid geopolitical uncertainty.
